Ah you have to love when an election is near. Now they are asking should we cap immigration. The Race card is being played left right and centre.
Personally we cannot stop what we have started it's too late. What should be done is a better screening of disease HIV etc. Citizenship needs to be earned and not a given. |

Dave, you´re delusional. Completely completely delusional. Analyse the &%^%&%^& language and it´s pretty blatant that race is the major issue involved, not environmental capacity, demographic sustainability, or any of the other perfectly relevant concerns.
I´m pretty sure almost every objective analysis of Australia´s demographical situation calls for more children and more young immigrants, urgently. The fact that Howard is saying the exact opposite just shows how shortsighted and racist his politics are.

well not really... if you read one of my most recent blog posts, I'm pretty sure that issues with immigration are not racially based. I think we've had this discussion before though?

Howard's saying that, but doing the opposite. Did read an article about this a week or so ago with the numbers, but it did make the point the number of migrants is huge, and perhaps the reason the govt doesn't trumpet this is sections of their their 'support' might not appreciate it. |

I wasn´t writing off all those issues that we have talked about (and that i mentioned later in the same post), but simply stating that these were not the things being discussed by Howard or (generally) in the media. What IS always being discussed over and over, is the ´issue´ of islam in australia, middle eastern youths in sydney, asian drug dealers, etc. This is far from an objective analysis of the situation, and is pure populist politics in my book.
