IR protests all about family

COMEDIANS, bands and children's entertainers will headline the next key rally against the federal industrial changes.
But this time Victorian unions will not try to fill the MCG.
The Trades Hall Council is holding a "union and community family day" at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on April 22 in the campaign against WorkChoices.
THC secretary Brian Boyd said yesterday the event would motivate unionists in the lead-up to the federal election.
Mr Boyd said the assault against the Howard Government would feature ads and campaigning in marginal Coalition seats such as Deakin and La Trobe.
"Labor is already in a strong position in Victoria but if we can win one or two seats here it will be a big bonus," he said.
The last major union rally was held last November, when organisers failed to fill the MCG with protesters just after the state election.
Next month's event will be held on a Sunday and will feature several acts.
Nationally, unions are expected to pour millions of dollars into the campaign against WorkChoices.
It is being mainly funded by a $5.50 a union member levy.
