Magpies near full strength

Collingwood will be virtually at full strength for the Wizard Home Loans Cup clash against Carlton at Telstra Dome on Sunday afternoon. The Magpies will only be missing Ben Johnson and Glenn Freeborn, who have had interrupted pre-season campaigns.

Boom recruit Shane Woewodin will turn for his first official game for the club since his transfer from Melbourne, as will former Eagles forward Andrew Williams.


Other new players in the Magpies squad include Tristen Walker, a young key position player who also played one Wizard Cup game last year before spending the season with Williamstown in the VFL, and Dane Swan – the son of Williamstown legend Bill.

Carlton also included their number one player Anthony Koutoufides, who appears to have fully recovered from the knee injury which cost him most of last season.
