I saw the scores for this game in today's paper ... and I'm worried.
Remember our pathetic pre-season efforts against Sydney and the Kangaroos last year ... and then we went on the make the Grand Final.
On that basis, I'd say that Carlton would surely have to be certainties for this year's premiership.

That Cole is a very talented kid. He is strong, smart and skilled but the intensity of senior footy caught him napping a bit last year. Once he wakes up to the pace of AFL he'll be a good chance to be a star-hopefully it will be this year. He lopes a bit like McLeod, deceptively quick. I just hope he's half that good.

At the end of 2003, Carlton will have as many wooden sppons as Collingwood.
Sure you can say the weather in Darwin is something they won't play in this year, but you can see how little skill they have. They were being pounded in the 1st half with their best players playing.

Without being touted a racist, I did think the All-Stars played rings around Carlton, in a similar manner to the Harlem Globetrotters. It was great to see, and I got many laughs from the commentary team too!
God help the competition if a team based in Darwin was ever formed. The All-Stars were superb, showed great speed, composure and their use of the ball was brilliant.
Headland will go close to a Brownlow based on what I saw. And our man Leon showed that he is in for a VERY big year.

That was the only reason i watched it to see Leon,Cole and other players i like play*S*. The tv commentator never once mentioned the fact that Cole plays with the Magpies*S*.

I'm fairly new to Nick's forums so g'day everyone!! I saw the game and like 'molloymagic' noticed that they didn't even mention that Cole plays with an AFL team, our team, the Magpies. I don't think they had done too much research on alot of the players - they couldn't even tell who some of the players were, at one stage one of the callers called Matthew Allan as a ruckman - hard job to do tho I spose - you can't knock them too much I guess, it is only pre-season and there were alot of relatively unknowns playing. Great to see Cole, and Leon in such stunning form though. Can't wait for the season proper to begin.
