Is it possible to structure the forum so each player has only one thread and the threads are listed in order of player number.

I think the idea is that each player has only one thread, that being originated by that particular players prez....a listing in order is a nice idea. No clue if it's possible, but Mike would be able to give us a definite answer one way or other.

There should only be one thread per player, if there's more, report it and we'll merge/delete as appropriate. Once all the threads have started, we can set the forum so that no new threads can be created.

regarding the ordering of threads, the system is set to bump the last thread added to, so there's no way we can do ordering.

Is it possible, LD, if all threads are marked as announcements in numerical order?

Sorry for starting the new topics i didnt realise my query had been answered already.

I think Logically it makes sense to arrange it by jumper number as that is how we all associate with the players by the number that they were.

Surely All we have to do is for someone (Probably Johnson26) to create a topic for each player in a consistent manner. Then sticky those threads and lock the forum to prevent new topics being created.

thanks for the feedback Smile

I think it's fine the way it is, there is one thread per player, and they will be bumped every time a new post is posted in those threads. No need for stickys or the likes, just need one reminding people the purpose of the forum.

Locking it will eliminate anyone from posting unless they are a moderator of the board, or a forum administrator. Thus making work for the moderators because they would need to post the replies for the person.

Unless they set it that only certain members (in a group) can start new threads on that board, I am not sure if this board has that feature or not.

I don't think every player has a thread at the moment.

From a personal point of view i guess i prefer it being in order as it makes it easier to find what i want.

Lets wait and see how the fourm works once the season starts and people start posting in there more often.

Oh I would like it that way to, but I just don't think phpBB supports that with their set ups.

What about if you make them all as stickys? Would that then allow you to put them in any order you choose or does it go by post count?

They go by post count, every time you make a new post in the thread it bumps that topic to the top of the page.

a) Understandable, the actual question was asking whether we could have the same thing used on Nicks.

b) Surely not?

I don't think a forum can be locked if people still want to post in there...

Pretty sure they can be set so that only mods can start a thread. Reg'd users can add to them as usual.
