OUR GREAT JUMPER!

Me and my dad have been saying for years that our jumper should be predominatly black not white. but for years and years we stuck with the predominatly white jumper, looking weak and feeling weak. but in the year 2000 there was a change that has made us very happy. We changed to predominatly black. it seems stupid but we actually look alot more intimidating in predominatly black rather than white in the oposition's eyes. My dad had been saying it for years and the great eddie has heard his request and quickly acted on it!

i truly believe that this makes a difference and has made a difference. what do ya think?

Yeah i agree Anthony. Tthe predominantly black jumper wa what we al;ways wore in the beginning when we won our first ever premiership and started in the VFA/VFL, then for some reason it was changed. I think it looks awesome, especially with the white shorts.

Black should definatly be the predominant colour, one only has to look at a Magpie to see it is black with white patches.

yep i agree with u both ant and brooke we look more professional and we look a lot more intimidating too!!!! I luv my guersney this way than the other way white with black stripes!! Its so much better black with white stripes.........n e eway this change has done us good and proud lets hope it will stay like this!

Hey I think the jumper looks good, but its not how you look that counts, its how hard you play the game.

What I would like to see happen is that when we play away games and our jumper clashes with the opposition that we wear our old mainly white humper instead of that stupid pre season one they weat some times that has a weird looking magpie no stripes on it.

I love the current jumper. The predominantly black looks fantastic. We look better and tougher I think and since we reverted back to the black we have climbed from the bottom to the Grand Final !

The predominantly black jumper looks great with black shorts, but I don't really like it with white shorts. I reckon the old predominantly white jumper looked excellent with white shorts ... and it would be a great alternative strip for matches against clubs that have a mainly dark strip.

Can't stand that thing that they wear pre-season ... and I noticed they wore the bloody thing in a couple of home and away games last year. Get rid of it, I say.

I don't go along with this idea that a dark strip looks more intimidating. I agre with whoever said it's more about the way you play that makes you intimidating.

But I think it's very important that the two opposing teams have contrasting strips that make them easy to tell apart. And I think by having one predominantly black strip and another predominantly white strip, we could probably avoid having to bring in a "foreign" colour ... like hot pink ... or fluorescent green ... or canary yellow ... because let's face it, whether you like it or not, sharply contrasting alternative strips are on the way.

I too much prefer the new jumper.
I have also always preferred the black shorts.
(especially the older style tight ones!)

Alf - you might know this, but wasn't the old jumper (ie the 20's) predominantly black? I think I either read it or heard it somewhere.
