Post subject: Collingwood Membership....Advice Needed | |
|
All
I would like to become a Collingwood member but I'm not sure what type to get. I am from Canberra and only get to see 1 live Collingwood game a year which is the away game v Melbourne in the June long weekend.
Can any interstate members or Melbourne locals advise me which is the best membership option for me. I've had a read of the memberships and i just don't know what to do. Does and AFL membership get me Collingwood membership? Its all too confusing. Hellllpp.

Hey Mr Pieman,
I am in Sydney and I have a Country Social Club membership. Sometimes I can only get down to Melbourne once or twice a year but you get entry to five home games.
If you are confused about the different membership options it might be best to ring the club as they can talk you through the process and help you with your options.

The MCG renovation is only being done to host the 2006 Commonwealth games.
I would expect it to be finished by GF 2005, as the games must be held in summer.
As for membership for interstaters that have little hope of seeing a live game, there really is none. If you wish to sign up, just pick any level you want. It really is only a donation to the club and a statistic for end of year bragging rights. Sorry.

Noticed at the afl site that
Membership News
5:43:33 PM Fri 10 January, 2003
All Social Club Memberships bought after today Friday Jan 10 2003 cannot be guaranteed a Grand Final Ticket .
This is due to the AFL allocation of Grand Final Tickets and the high number of Collingwood Social Club memberships already sold.
If members do miss out on a ticket there names will go into a priority ballot for all uncollected tickets.
The number of Collingwood Social Club Memberships sold will also be restricted due to the reduced capacity at the MCG, so we urge you to get in early to avoid disappointment.
