Email received today:
quote: I am trying to find the name and stats of a player that used to coach me…….he played in 1984 or 1985 and his name I think was Ian McMullan, or Ian Mullan. He played forward flanker or pocket and kicked 4 or 5 goals on Debut. I am sorry to be so vague…..is it possible you could help me find his stats.

Yeah, Ian McMullen used to play for us in the mid-80s, then went onto play for Essendon I believe.

Thanks for the info. Murray, and it was nice of you to add that little observation to the answer. Yes, I'm afraid it's true, I can't name all the members of the board. Guess that makes me a less than perfect supporter, but hey, you're welcome to the point and I hope enjoy it.

Ian McMullin's debut - Collingwood Vs Fitzroy 1984 Elimination Final MCG, Kicked 5 goals continuing the tradition of Collingwood throwing youngsters in at the deepend in finals and getting results.
Never lift up to that potential again, but had that magical ability to do the impossible/freakish thing.

I remember him as a player and I did know that he was on the board but I also think he has stepped down and is no longer on the board?

Wasn't a bad player, but was cut down by chronic hamstring injuries, I think it was.
