FORMER Crown casino owner Lloyd Williams has drawn up plans for a $15 million private racecourse to be built in his own back yard.
The reclusive millionaire has designed one of the world's most extravagant horse-training setups for his Cape Schanck property, based on England's famous Newmarket training tracks.
The equine wonderland would be used exclusively by his stable of elite racehorses in pursuit of Australia's richest races, including the Melbourne Cup and Cox Plate.
Plans seen by the Herald Sun show a 2.7km track with a 1300m straight, longer than the famous Flemington straight.
The project is expected to cost the Hudson Conway boss an estimated $15 million.
It includes stables for 71 horses, a parade ring, viewing towers, wading pools, spelling yards, administration office, manager's residence and living quarters for strappers and jockeys.
