There is an article on afl.com today talking about discarded players. Then it lists players that are now training with other clubs:
Unlisted players training at AFL clubs. It says James Podsiadly is training with Geelong. Have we delisted him?

Pods was on the rookie list, and all the rookies have been delisted at this stage.

carlton's got an entire second side training with them for christ sake. poor old andy R hill over at the enemy too. i'd be surprised if we dont pick pods back up...hope so anyway.

As stated above Blanch, with the exception of interstate Rookies who must remain on the list for 2 years, all other Rookie positions are up for grabs every year.

Thanks Murray. I haven't seen him play (living in WA doesn't help) but everyone here says he can play. If this is the case I'd just prefer he trained with us.

Blanch - I watched him in the pre-season comp. Actually I thought he looked pretty good. He was played across half back and half forward and I think he might have kicked a couple of goals.
I also saw him a bit at Williamstown later on during the year and he didn't look nearly as good. I am not sure if he was carrying an injury or not but he seemed to be a bit lost.
After the pre-season comp I felt MM was giong to put him on the senior list but obviously not.
I think if he is ever going to make it, it has to be this year no matter where he ends up.
