I SAW HIM OVER HIS CAREER AND HE NEVER SHIRKED [ASK GAV].HE WAS A CHAMPION . HE WOULD WALK INTO ANY COLLINGWOOD SIDE I HAVE SEEN SINCE EARLY 50'S. IF HE PLAYED WITH A FEW OF THE GUTLESS WONDERS WHO WERE AROUND IN EARLY 70'S WHO COULD NOT PLAY FINALS HE WOULD HAVE MADE THEM WALK TALLER AND WE WOULD HAVE NOT JUST BEEN HOT FAVOURITES BUT WOULD HAVE WON .
I TAKE THIS TIME TO WELCOME HIM TO COLLINGWOOD

There's only one way to settle this - at the first game, at quarter time, when Terry isn't looking, Gav can deck him. then it'll be square...

I think that's absolutely brilliant.
I HATED him after his attack on Gav. No one decks Rowdy without a decade or two of vitriol. That's like slapping Mother Theresa (especially bad form, given her current state). But now he's here and I'm delighted. Never in a million years would I have thought that Rowdy and Daniher would work together... I bet they get on like a house on fire and realise that they probably have a lot in common.
Made my day, that. The enemy becomes the comrade.

I'm in shock actually. One of my most hated players is now on board the magpie express. i feel, disturbed, almost abused by the whole thing.
Hard at it. The Collingwood way. |

ask me again in a year or two - dont particularly like the idea at the moment given he's pure scum but as with anyone at collingwood, they can earn our respect over time.

Gotta say I never liked the guy (as a footballer) and I can't believe he's going to be at the Pies! Gav should definitely wack him one in the coaches box when no-one's looking!!! I suppose Mick thinks he can bring something to the Club and team.
GO PIES!

I think it is great - he is an experienced head who can contribute at training, planning and on match days. He has coached in Wagga and been an assistant at the scum.
The Gav Brown thing is a distant memory - given that Brownie got the premiership medal that day anyway - think of it this way -Daniher has put his tail between his legs and has seen the light and realised that Collingwood is on the verge of some great times.

I still hate him.
Millane 42, it may be a distant memory to you but for those of us who still watch The Road To Victory it is still a very fresh one.
But I guess acts like his are done through desperation.
Hopefully he will show some integrity now that he is at our Club and we will give him our support.
Gav would never hit anyone - remember that time he was reported and suspended for striking in a St Kilda game and we appealed? St Kilda came forward with video evidence in the end to prove his innocence.
He was too fair a player to resort to that.
If you bleed black and white you'll never walk alone.

I think it's great. I hated him as much as is possible after 1990 but his committment could never be questioned. I've heard sheedy talk of him as a coach saying he's fantastic. We would not have brought him on if he wasn't going to add something to the mix. 1990 was 12 years ago. If Gav can forgive him then so can I.
Welcome Terry!

I have just read the article and I must say that I believe this is a good move. Yep we all know he decked Rowdy in the GF but Rowdy did hit back in that game by blitzing him in the 3rd and 4th 1/4's. That was 12 years ago and I am sure Rowdy and Terry are over it and all is well between them. He is an experienced player and from watching him play through his career Daniher was tough, aggressive at the ball and a thinker. Our boys will learn alot from him. We have to forgive him for the past and welcome him as the newest member of the Collingwood Football Club. If he is dedicated to the club winning a premiership then I welcome him openly. Put it behind us and move on to the future dominance of the COLLINGWOOD FOOTBALL CLUB!!!!!
If your not bleeding Black and White, you don't truly support Collingwood!!!!! |

Well said, Phanto.
What happened in the 1990 GF was a classic 'galvanising (or Gavanising in this case) the team' situation. It was an ugly incident but it was obvious which team benefitted.
I'll never forget when Browny ran back on the field and 'chested' TD. Stirring stuff indeed.

For once, Sem is right. TD was a great player. He captained 2 premiership teams. He was part of the Essendon juggernaut of 2000.
Not a bad background that. But most of all, obviously MM wants him and has faith in him.
That's good enough for me!Welcome TD!
