Adkins is packing his bags to go to West Coast. His gonna be a legend but he just couldnt manage a game @ da greatest team of all. I just want to wish Chipper all the best for his future in the West. He had bad luck at the Pies with injury and trying to force his way into a strong team. Hope he gets to play some senior footy next year and puts in some good performances (except against the Pies of course!).

Obviously a player of great ability judging by his 2000 season, but just didn't manage to recapture form in time to save his skin at Collingwood.

I'm sure he'll do well in the wild west. Good luck to him.

I was going to wish him good luck until I heard he was desperate to get out and happy to move on even while he was wearing our colours. Footy is full of traitors now although I do feel sorry for the likes of Heffernan.

So Abi, not Adkins is a trator because we traded him?
I for one am dissapointed we didn't give a better go late last season. He played well against Carlton and his pace and confidence would be a huge asset with our great ball winning midfield.

I wish him all the best. I hope he proves us wrong. I hope Williams proves West Coast more wrong. Welcome to Collingwood Willow. It's been too long since I yelled out "GO WILLOW"

I remember his brilliant boundary line goal with his first kick in his debut game. It is a pity that injury has interrupted his promising start.

Can almost bet he would have been pushing and may have got more of a go if he hadn't have told Mick he wanted to leave half way through the season. Least he had the dignity to tell the Football department of his plans. This move was simply a career choice. All he needed was more of a sniff of senior football but injuries intervened.

I'm inclined to agree with you MarkT, trading Adkins might turn out to make the Brett James trade look like peanuts. Adkins was quoted as saying they offered him a 2 year contract this year but he turned it down through lack of opportunities - they might have givne up the ghost on him then, whereas should have given him some games so he might change his mind. Of course there migtht be more to it than that, what is said to the media is only part of the story. Yep electrifying line-breaking speedsters like that are a rare commmodity - maybe Leon will get there in a year or so.
