Post subject: SALARY CAP QUERIES | |
|
Ok i have a question. In prior years Fremantle have recruited the following:
Peter Bell
Trent Croad
Jeff Farmer
Des Headland (looks likely)
Last year they were unable to sign Fabian Francis due to salary cap constraints. Yet this year have resigned big name players like Haselby and Pavlich.
My point being how can they now afford Des Headland ???
How can Port Adelaide recruit Byron Pickett. Surely they are strechting the Salary Cap to its fullest already ??

Easy answer to that one JLC....the AFL will just overlook it like the did in the 90's with North Melbourne.....
cheers

Luke Toia and Daniel Metropolis were on huge salaries...over the $250K mark each. That would make some room.
My oxygen is Collingwood. Without it I die. |

I heard Jason Akermanis say on 'The Fat' on Monday night that Metropolis was on $290k.
He also said that salary cap pressure is created by too many blokes being payed on potential and not on output. Most sense the little wanka has made in his whole life.
Q - How does Akermanis know Freo blokes salaries?

Metropolis was on big money. Plus the salary cap increased by $450,000 this year.

Fremantle must have been really desperate...lol lol Metropolis an average player at best. I suppose they had to pay someone to use up the Salary Cap. But why Metropolis ??

That is an excellent point JLC, just how is that possible? Can't see how that could possibly add up, even if they have offloaded $500K+, Pavlich was touted at $2M over three years, Haselby will be on $250-300K+, and Headland would be getting $350-400K+, must be some bloody good maths.
Go Pies!
