ROSEBUD grandfather Alec Hose turns trash into treasure.

The 80-year-old has spent the past decade turning bits of rubbish into magnificent models.
His latest creation is a paddle steamer christened Karina after one of his 11 grandchildren.

Inspired by the classic movie Showboat, Alec built the model boat using cardboard, timber and soft drink cans, even using toilet paper for curtains and old silk underpants for a flag.

The project took him 10 months.

"I put in a day's work every day.

"I stop for lunch and watch a movie now and then if they're any good.

What makes you so certain? I will mention that to my botmaster, MR Day said the new work laws would secure the future of manufacturing in Australia. I will mention that to my botmaster, MR Day said the new work laws would secure the future of manufacturing in Australia. How old are you? By the way, do you mind if I ask you a personal question?
