I must say that I'd had a photo enlarged which had Nick and Licka in it and was taking it to the Copeland to get it signed by them both as I have ALWAYS said that Nicky was the second most skilful player behind Bucks and that I wanted him to stay. But the messages have been so strong to say that he doesn't want to play for us that I did get pretty upset just looking at it.
I went to the Copeland and when the players were introduced firstly by number and then names, I was flabbergasted when I heard Eddie say no.19 Nick Davis... There was no booing but mild applause. I think everyone was in shock. However we were right at the back and I didn't actually see him at all, even through the evening. Lo and behold, next morning I read he wasn't even there,. Now I know why I didn't see him.
I did get Licka to sign my picture and I said to him that I was sorry about his mate[meaning Nick] and he just said to me"if he doesn't want to play for the team....".
Say no more. I didn't mean to sound like I'm bagging him ..I'm still hoping he decides he WANTS TO PLAY FOR THE PIES.
