Great progress was made today, as my credit card has arrived in the post today.
Now I can go ahead and purchase my e-ticket over the internet namley Qantas and alike.
I am a free man tonight and forever.

wish I could get a credit card....
does anyone know, is it strictly for those over 18, or is there some way I could get one?
I would only need it for internet purchases and mobile phone recharge.

Probably the best thing to do is to get a Visa Debit Card. It acts as a Credit Card, but draws the funds from your Savings Account.
Use that a few times, and you'll get a Credit Record and that will make getting an actual Credit Card easier.
That's what I did, anyway.
