sad to hear the news tonight about this music great,can some of the older people on here tell me a little bit about him ,i know that he had a great song in'24 hours from tulsa ,but i dont know much more of his songs

Greg is spot on, Gene Pitney was an absolute legend. I saw him in concert at crown about 6-7 years ago. Had HEAPS of hits. He's got plenty of great songs.

Its funny, my buddies are all 27-28 as that is my age and when i first started listening to gene, i was about 15-16. My friends thought i was a freak at first, but then they were wanting a copy of The man who shot liberty valence, or 24 hours from tulsa, or if i didn't have a dime, or mecca, or any of the other great songs that he sung. Sad day for music indeed

Great memories for a great performer....my old XT Falcon 1968 used to blare his music while I was courting my ( NOW wife) girlfriend.
