I'm interested in this as well, I'm moving out, and will be getting broadband, so it'd be fantastic if some people responded to this thread. |

ok, i put in the urls..........and um, how secure am i using it? i have a firewall....but still
ohhhhhhhh i think i got it working!
i have broadband cable.........but it appears to only be downloading at the rate of 2kb or 3 kbs.......that doesn't sound right, specially for a 3gb download, at that rate it will take 70000 years. _________________ Jacqui © Proud Pies 2003 and beyond |

PP, I find that the longer you download, the faster it becomes.
Seems like this type of file sharing likes to upload faster than you download.
What the hell are you d/l that is 3GB? |

Change your port off 6181 to something else, http://userpages.umbc.edu/~hamilton/btclientconfig.html
Reason being is your ip throttles down the speed so you can get only a certain amount of data.
Also once you share torrents instead of leaching you will get a faster speed. Another thing if all the seeders are on modems you will get bugger all speed, if they are on DSL, Cable T1 - T3 you will get faster speeds.
Starte surfing and read articles, heaps out there. |

What's this all about? Is it for the sake of downloading movies for (say, next to nothing)? If you reconfig the firewall, do you leave yourself vulnerable to virus?
Does it work for you? What do you get out of it? serious questions. _________________ free energy i$ coming.... |

As far as I know with Bit Torrent (I haven't used it yet being on dial up) but I'm pretty sure it speeds up as you go along. Not entirely sure.
3gb? Hehe. |
