Yeah Alf, all they did was count their legs and wings, then divided by 6.

Is there an easier way?

There is, actually.

You only have to count their legs ... then divide by 6. It's easier AND more accurate.

If you count their wings as well, you'd have to divide the result by 8 because they have 6 legs + 2 wings.

But then you'd have to allow for a certain percentage of flies that have had their wings removed by psychopaths.

So you'd need access to mental health statistics relating to psychopaths who get their jollies by removing the wings from flies and come up with some sort of estimate as to how many psychopathic episodes these people have in the period under question. You would also need some estimate of how many wings they remove per episode.

So, in view of the difficulties this might present, I'd suggest just counting the legs and dividing by 6.

My bad, me thinking flies have 4 legs.

I must be one of the psychopaths you mention as I used to pull their wings off and turn them into a walk! Twisted Evil Wink

Another way of counting them is to count their eyes, then divide by... nah, that's just too difficult.
