Why go to Bali, because it's cheap, great weather, beaches etc.
i'm not going to try and transport drugs in, and i'll take my chances with the terrorists

Interesting reading
I will still go to Bali as I always do. Plenty of friends and it's not the Hindu's which are the problem. As usual it's the radical muslims who dislike everything Western as they feel that they are the only poor and oppressed people in the world.
No matter where you travel in today's world morons will try to kill you. The odds are in your favour that you won't be. List the population and then list how many people have died or have been injured due to fanatics. You do the maths you may be suprised.
I will be back there next year.
A bomb will go off here. It's only a matter of time then what then, don't go to Melbourne/Sydney etc.
If your to scared to go anywhere you may as well be dead as thee will be no point living.

Agreed, when your time is up your time is up. However, why would you not go to Phuket instead. For a couple of hundred bucks the shopping is better, the beaches are just as nice and you won't find nicer people than the Thai people. If it's sex you are after then many would argue that Phuket is the no.1 destination anyway.
When your time is up your time is up but it doesn't hurt to remove yourself from a known danger zone for a couple of hundred dollars. Phuket for me everytime, regardless of whether Bali has "issues" or not.

I had friends tell me Thailand as well, they change their trip from Bali to there and we all know what happened.
Wherever you travel these days you have to be observant of things around you. The world has changed. |
