Hope they don't drag Collingwood's name back into all this... (haven't read the article yet!)

Guilty ... businessman Brad Cooper after being charged / File

SYDNEY businessman Brad Cooper has been found guilty of all 13 charges relating to bribing a former HIH executive prior to the company's collapse.
Cooper pleaded not guilty in the NSW Supreme Court to the fraud and bribery-related charges.

The 46-year-old was accused of paying the former general manager of finance at HIH, Bill Howard, about $124,000 in bribes between December 2000 and March 2001.

In exchange, the jury has heard, Mr Howard allegedly settled claims for Cooper worth millions of dollars.

Cooper was also accused of forging or doctoring seven statements for financial gain during their transactions, made as Mr Howard oversaw the separation of HIH from one of Cooper's companies, Home Security International.

Cooper had pleaded not guilty to six bribery charges, and seven counts of forging or doctoring documents for financial gain during his transactions with Howard.

The five male and seven female jurors deliberated for three days before convicting him of all 13 charges.

Cooper showed no reaction as the jury foreman delivered the guilty verdicts but sipped from a glass of water as he sat in the dock.

Justice Bruce James has yet to make a decision on whether Cooper will be granted bail ahead of a sentencing hearing.

Cooper did not apply for bail and Justice James remanded him in custody for sentencing submissions on December 2.

The judge also ordered a pre-sentence report be prepared by the Probation and Parole Service before Cooper's next court appearance.

Outside the court, Cooper's barrister Peter Lowe said his client was disappointed with the outcome.

Asked whether his client was prepared to go to jail, Mr Lowe told reporters "he's been thinking about the possibility for a while ... he's prepared".

No mention in Collingwood in what you just posted. These days, this probably belongs in VPT for that reason.

Btw, I didn't click on the link, so if that isn't the whole article, then they may have mentioned CFC, but otherwise, no.

There will be boards that will bring up Coopers connection with the Pies.
Those boards will use this case to try and create a bad name for Ed.
