Bay terror exercise

ARMY Black Hawk helicopters and commandos will respond to a mock terrorist attack in Port Phillip Bay this week.

Exercise Mars Anchor is part of Australia's counter-terrorism preparedness in the lead-up to next year's Commonwealth Games.
Black Hawks from the Army's 171st Aviation Squadron, temporarily based in Bendigo, will be supported by a counter-terrorism unit.

The units involved will also take part in the national counter-terrorism activity, Exercise Mercury 05, next week in Victoria
