Poor Buggers in New Orleans

My thoughts are with the thousands of people in America getting swamped by Hurricane Katrina atm.

They may be religious, right-wing, neo-con bastards, but even americans dont deserve this...

Just been watching the live feed from CNN, and Katrina has now been downgraded to a Cat 3 hurricane. However, it seems as most of the damage is yet to occur.

Been reported that two levee banks have been breached (New Orleans is below sea level) and some houses have been flooded to the ceiling.

There are about 90,000 people sheltering inside the Superdome, and some of the roof panels have been blown off. Also, an apartment building has collapsed, trapping at least 10 people beneath the rubble, but nothing can be done to rescue them.

Pumps have failed, so if Katrina goes for too much longer, NO will soon be under water.

No Jazz in Bourbon St. for some time( a place I'd love to go). Thoughts and prayers for those concerned.

Been watching cnn on and off last few days...
This is disgusting, the lack of effort to get these poor bastards out. The army and Navy are equiped to move 1000's of people quickly. Why are they not going in?
This will see Bush's head topple....

I'm constantly amazed at how quickly we, the human race. revert to animals when disaster strikes.
There are reports of rape (children & adults) and shootings.
Some of these people don't deserve rescue or anything, but the great majority are suffering in the richest nation in the world.
I'm sure it's no coincidence that this is the south, mostly populated by Negro's. Wonder what the response by government would have been if this happened in Governor Schwarzenegger's backyard?

and that's exactly it Eunos, these people are crying out for help which is very slow in coming and yes, the majority of the population is African American. They have no water, no food, nothing....we got stuff into those devestated by the tsunami's quicker than they yanks are getting to their own people in their own countries..and from what I saw on tv before, the southerners are telling it like it is......they can set up whole camp cities in iraq, but they can't save their own people - from one person there..
