Terrible tragedy... it is good to see though the British services are well co-ordinated in their response.
Lets hope you are safe and well London_Dave... same goes for your friends and family.

It's horrific, they're saying two dead on the news, I'm afraid it will probably end up more like a hundred. Sounds like Kings Cross station is a nightmare.
Good luck to all our London friends, our best wishes to you and yours. _________________ "If at first you dont succeed...

I don't think we'll know the real toll for quite some time. They are now saying 12 killed in all the blasts and hundreds injured.
previously unknown Al Qaeda group have claimed responsibility. _________________ Jacqui © Proud Pies 2003 and beyond |

It's just awful. I worked in London for a couple of years and still have UK friends. A couple of them work near Liverpool St Station and so far have heard from one that she is okay. I was emailing UK friends most of the evening. It's a bit scary thinking I used to catch the tube into Liverpool St every day too.
My thoughts are with all those caught up in such a tragic event. |

My thoughts are with all the families and friends who have lost love ones or who are hurt or injured. I pity the people who launch these attacks. It is sad that their lives are filled with such hate. _________________ " Ohhh Banksy and out comes the Note Book".

Do these people really think they will achieve anything by this sort of crap. Moronic, brainwashed fools.
LD, and all other London expats, I hope you are all okay. I have friends over there atm, haven't heard from them yet (via their family). Tragic. |

If anybody is ringing family and friends in London, the following may be of interest
Telstra offers rebates for UK calls
TELSTRA customers phoning relatives in Britain after the London bombings overnight have been offered rebates in a gesture of sympathy.
The rebates would be offered for calls made by customers in Australia checking on family members in London, or those in London calling home to speak to family, Telstra chief Sol Trujillo said.
The calls were to have been made between 6pm (AEST) yesterday and 6am tomorrow.
Mr Trujillo also said any Telstra customer or family member hospitalised as a result of the explosions would be given rebates for a period of one month from July 7.
At least 37 people were killed, and another 700 wounded, including seven Australians in the bombings.
Telstra said there was significantly elevated traffic on the telephone network in London last night as thousands of Australians hit the phones trying to contact family and friends.
"We have all been shocked overnight by news of the series of explosions in London and the loss of lives and serious injuries that followed," Mr Trujillo said today.
"I know I speak on behalf of Telstra people by offering our deepest sympathy to those people affected by the bombings and their families."
To apply for the rebate, eligible Telstra customers should contact Telstra on a special telephone number that will be advised on their next bill.
Telstra had been assured its employees in London were safe, Mr Trujillo said.
"We are also working to contact staff who we are aware have travel plans to be in London at this time," he said.
Telstra said it had been working closely with federal government authorities to provide further assistance as required.

Can I just add my thoughts to those already posted. I sincerely hope that any Nicks posters based in London are safe and well, especially London Dave who's posts I really enjoy and most times agree with.
Evil mongrels who do these things ! I hope they don't go unpunished. |
