Whats this shit???

Buckley report sours Magpies' win

Collingwood's first win over Brisbane in seven attempts was soured slightly by the report of captain Nathan Buckley and a leg injury to talented youngster Mark McGough.

Buckley, one of the Magpies' best in their three-point win over the Lions, was reported for wrestling with Brad Scott in the second quarter by field umpire Martin Ellis.

Scott also had his number taken.

It is the second time Buckley, one of the fancies for this year's Brownlow Medal, has been reported this season.

He was cleared of striking St Kilda's Andrew Thompson in round five.

Don't panic, it will only result in a fine if anything. He will still be eligible for the Chas.

Scott was trying to choke him, he was all over Bucks. Bucks should get off anyway, he was only defending himself.

Goodbye Dolly I must leave you, though it breaks my heart to go,
Something tells me I am needed at the front to fight the foe,
See - the soldier boys are marching and I can no longer stay,
Hark - I hear the bugle calling, goodbye Dolly Gray.

GOOD OLD COLLINGWOOD FOREVER, WE KNOW HOW TO PLAY THE GAME,
SIDE BY SIDE WE STICK TOGETHER, TO UPHOLD THE MAGPIES NAME.
SEE THE BARRACKERS SHOUTING, AS ALL BARRACKERS SHOULD,
OH, THE PREMIERSHIP'S A CAKEWALK FOR THE GOOD OLD COLLINGWOOD

Firstly, it was Bucks who was on the ground, under that other idiot AND other players did the exact same thing during the match and nothing resulted - typical!

And as for Johno - from what I saw he only hit the guy on his chest - shows how inconsistent the umpires are and how much they DON'T see correctly!

GO PIES!

This happened right in front of me. Johnsome was on top of Buckley holding his throat. The umpire watches this go on, watches the play for a few seconds and the looks back to see Johnson still choking Bucks and Bucks gets reported for it, thats just crazy. To not get a free kick was a joke but for Bucks to get reported for that just shows that the umpires have no idea.

I think you mean Scott, Fradam (not Johnston)!

It was right in front of me too, and the umpire watched the entire incident and then ambled over after it finished and proceeded to take both their numbers! Ridiculous, because Scott was on top of Nath (yeah, ok I'm jealous ) and was holding him down so Nath couldn't do too much about it. I admire Nath's restraint though, because I'm sure he would have loved to whack Scott across the head!!!

I've heard that the reports against Bucks and Johno have been withdrawn and the report against Scott still stands. I cannot confirm this at the moment, I've heard it though.

Obviously paid off the umpires again!
There was a picture of Bucks getting strangled in the paper, I'm sure he wasn't at fault but it still affects his reputation.

Magpies pair charges dropped
21 May 2002 Herald Sun
By BRUCE MATTHEWS

COLLINGWOOD yesterday received a pleasant postscript to Saturday night's top-of-the-ladder win over Brisbane.

Skipper Nathan Buckley and defender Ben Johnson won't have to face the AFL Tribunal tonight.

Brisbane's Brad Scott is pleased too after a wrestling charge involving himself and Buckley was dropped yesterday.

Field umpire Martin Ellis withdrew the charges against Buckley and Scott after reviewing videotape of the incident on Colonial Stadium's city-side wing in the second quarter.

Umpire Kieren Nicholls dropped a charge that Johnson struck Brisbane forward Luke Power in the third term.
