Collingwood today launched a new major sponsorship with Renault Australia, a partnership that will see the car giant join the Magpies as vehicle sponsor for the next two seasons.
"I am absolutely delighted that Renault has agreed to become a major partner of our club," Collingwood president Eddie McGuire said in announcing the deal.
"We are very excited about driving the new Renault Laguna, a vehicle which showcases Renault’s stunning style and dedication to automotive safety systems.
"Road safety is a key issue at Collingwood through our community partnership with the TAC Wipe Off 5 campaign and Renault’s acclaimed commitment to safety research and development is in perfect alignment with these values."
Richard Wilson, director of Renault Australia said the sponsorship arrangement was part of Renault’s continuing programme to promote brand awareness in Australia.
"Since Renault’s return to the Australian market in June last year the response has been fantastic. Acceptance of the brand has been phenomenal and this is reflected in our consistently growing sales.
"Teaming up with the celebrated Collingwood Football Club provides a real opportunity to extend Renault’s marketing boundaries and broaden our customer base," Wilson said.

Well done Collingwood. Renault is a prestige brand, in keeping with Collingwoods standing as the premium team in the AFL.

Wilson...wonder how these deals are put together?
Congrats Mike, you've done yourself proud. I, on behalf of all Pies supporters thank you for your efforts.

Car 1 Citroen, but the image of Joffa in that proved too much..
Car 2..definately a renault 4 (0 - 60mph in 30 seconds there!)
Car 3, your guess is as good as mine, but it ain't a green datsun.

Geez Mike, have the AFL pinched one of your potential backers?
Rule 1. Barrack for Collingwood
Rule 2. See rule 1.
Rule 3. There is no rule 3.

The Renault.....You ripper?????I remember my first car that I drove many years ago was a Renault Dauphine and unfortunately I forgot to put oil in the motor (does help sometimes) and the bloody thing stopped on me....Pity that,BUT well done to the Club.
Do they make BUSES.....I shall drive one around Aussie if they want to supply me with one.Make it Black & White and I will be as proud as punch.
Could you imagine me travelling past WACA in a Renault Magpie bus when WCHandbags or Freo are playing....wouldnt that cause a riot.
