Carlton Football Club and the AFL today announced that they have decided to further embrace their 'commercialism at all costs' philosophy by selling the rights to the Carlton club song.

The rights were immediately snapped up by the Lygon Street based direct marketing firm of Siiiiimon and W'anker.

Little did they realise that due to the current Truth In Adverting laws, Professor Alan Fels of the ACCC has forced the following 'minor' corrections to the words.

The song must now be sung as follows:

We are the fading blues
We are the old dark fading blues
We're the team that's begun to let you down
We're nearly out of steam - all Carlton knows

Once we had champions
That they could send up
But this is were it ends up
A 10 goal win means you've been playing
Against the fading old dark Blues

AFL Chief Wayne Jackson commented, "We've made money and corrected a number glaring factual errors. Let's see them get stuck into us now!"

Any year we beat Carlton is a good year
