Season 2000 ... Round 22 ... Essendon V Collingwood ... I think it happened just before half-time, if my memory serves me correctly ... Punt Road end ... one of the best goals I have ever seen.

I found an almost dead kitten 8 weeks ago,it was starving and dehydrated, for some reason i took it home and the wife has nursed it back into health.
like all cats ever to grace this house it was given a collingwood name.
we called her lois.
now what do i do tyson? you wanker!!!
lets hope our black and white tom cat brodie can keep his name for a while.

I for one will be sad to see Lane go. Ok,so not everyone liked him(for whatever reason I don't care) but in my mind he will always be a magpie and it's always sad to see a magpie retire.
*sad to see molloy, lonie, buckley, fraser(and others) won;t be ready to face the tigers*

This just in!!
"Magpie Tyson Lane is reconsidering his decision to retire after meeting with Collingwood coach Michael Malthouse and the club's general manager of football, Neil Balme, today.
Lane, 25, reportedly retired yesterday after citing a lack of motivation to play at the highest level. The Magpies released a statement today saying both the club and Lane were aware of the implications of retirement.
"Whilst Tyson was firm in his intention to retire at that time, both player and the club are very mindful of the significant implications of a retirement and have agreed to take the necessary time to reconsider the options before any final decision is made," the statement said.
"Tyson remains a contracted and required player of the Collingwood Football Club."
Dunnu the source though.

The source is the official site.
The yanks have a name, journeymen, for players who do the job of playing football. They are not stars, they are not on killer contracts, but no team can exist without them - they are the backbone.
Tyson Lane is a great journeyman, if that's not an oxymoron (the phrase, not Tyson), he's a wonderful clubman and is typical of those players who fight their way to the top level of their sport only to be dragged down by the 'supporters' because they are not stars. If it wasn't for the Tyson Lanes of this world we could never field a team.
