Post subject: i need a bit of help please. | |

ive just returned from perth after collecting the daughter and it seems my son has done something to the computer while we were out and hes not here to tell me how he did it.
The computer is stuck in safe mode, everything looks like its behind a magnifying glass.
how can i return it to normal running?
on previous occasions a grey box used to pop up saying you are in safe mode etc and we could then click ok to run normal.
no box anymore, its permanent safe mode.
and im a puter duffer with no idea.

Are you sure it's safe mode? Does it have SAFE written in the corners? If you were in safe mode you wouldn't be able to use the internet.
It is probably just that he's changed the resolution (some computer games will do that without asking).
To restore your settings go to Display in the Control Panel (Start/Settings/Control Panel/Display), click on the Settings tab and slide the slider to 800x600 or 1024x768 and then click apply. Your computer will show you the new resolution and give you an opportunity to accept it. If it's not right, go back and try another - you'll know the resolution you're used to when you see it.
Yell out if you have trouble.
ps. It's Christmas Day - so MERRY CHRISTMAS

that did the trick Mike.
i wish i knew what i was doing on this contraption.
Yes my son has admitted he bought a new cd game called diablo and that must have done it.
but i now know a new trick, how to fix it after he plays his bloody game.
i presume this will happen every time he plays it.
Thanks again Mike and merry xmas to you and yours as well.
