I think all politicians are like umpires!

They live in their own world - they can't see what's happening right in front of them - they're in it for their own glory and they have no idea how the game is really played!

GO PIES!

Marg

MargOz, I think in this case it was the voting public who were the umpires.

And like most umpires ... they got it WRONG.

We live in a nation full of WHITE MAGGOTS.

CQ - If everyone hates John Howard, then why did the amount of people who voted for him increase, and why was he returned to Government?

By the way, I can't stand Labour now, but if Simon Crean becomes Opposition Leader it is going to be twice as bad. I mean the guy studied in Russia, when they were communists, Crean, once a commie always a commie.

Pity there weren't a few more "commies" in the Labor Party. They might actually become a legitimate opposition. Their campaign this time was very tweedle-DUM, I reckon. The further the Liberals go to the Right, the more insipid the Labor Party seems to become.

Wow Joel - on that logic, Eddy would have to be a Carlton supporter 'cause he once had dinner with John Elliot.

Joel & magpie greg, do you actually know anything about communism other than what you see in the rhetoric of cold war America?

Alf, sorry but if there were more commies in the ALP there wouldn't be an ALP. The far left wing is what gives the Libs the amo to keep the Nat's in business and put the union bashing on the agenda every so often. They just wouldn't get enough votes to get a single seat. That's not an ideological comment just a fact.

Nothing wrong with the labour party and whilst there is breath in me them dirty rich loving stinking liberals will never get my vote.

Government is for all classes of people and yes even the poor and the sick and the elderly and society's unwanted.

howard would have to be aaron hamill. No heart, overrated, opportunistic prick. No talent as well.
Joel people voted for howard because they voted on fear not reason or rational thought. As long as the people who voted for him don't complain when there children can't get an education and why the hospitial are to full . I don't know what's more worrying. Howard in charge or the fact Costello might be.

Magpie Greg it sounds like you probably do know more than me about it and I'm sorry if I touched on a raw nerve. I'm sure the stuff your family experianced can only be appreciated by those who went through it.
No offense, but what you desribe is not confined to comunist regimes. Facists regimes, Mouslims Extremists, Cambodia and plenty more for eg. Many people confuse political systems with ecconomic systems and that includes those involved in running those regimes.

Anyway, sorry if I offended you - it wasn't my intention.

Lighten up Magpie Greg,

This is a football discussion, not a killing discussion.

People have a right to be captailist or communist, it is a free society.

Just because a person is different, do not shoot them down.

People who are Muslim, Catholic, captailist of communist should be able to live without hatred in society.

I have studied a bit on captialism and globalization. Along with communism I have a open and informed mind and side with neither.

Afterall there were a few communists down at Collingwood when they won four flags in a row.
