This must be a joke. Mick has actually hinted at possibly looking at Cummings. He got rid of a 500+ goalkicker who kicks 30m further than Cummings, can actually take a good pack mark rather than only on the lead and is much better when the ball hits the ground. Cummings is slow and absolutely pathetic.

I dont care what Collingwood has done in the past when it comes to trading but this will be the most absurd. I hope Mick is not feelong sorry for Cummings or something. If he wants a full forward, pick Sav up again. By the end of his career he would have probably kicked 700 goals. Not bad for a full forward dont you think? Cummings is an absoluter hack.

Sav is a legend.

Cummings was the Coleman medalist in 1999.
UNDER MALTHOUSE.

Maybe being under Mick again would spur him on.
Put faith in MM.

unfortunately sav could hardly mark on the lead, nor actually make a lead. and marking on the lead is a hell of a lot easier than taking a huge pack mark.

cummings is about forty times better than sav on a lead. and if he's kicking from 20 metres out directly in front he's not going to miss.

don't get me wrong though, i loved sav.

Maybe Foxy, but 562 goals so far isn't bad for someone who can't mark on the lead. Don't u think???

Imagine what he could've done if he just could've held those marks!! Seriously, sometimes I wanted to jump the fence and marj the damn thing for him!!!

I think the key thing here is to look at where we can get these guys.

If someone better is available obviously we're oigng to get them, but It's not likely that they will be, so it comes down to is it bad to have Cummings and Fletcher on the list taking a young guys spot - probably not since we have so much room now.

We wont have to pay them much, and if they come good, or if Tarrant or Rocca get injured, or if we're taking it tough in the middle and those guys are dong good for Willi, what's the harm of having them there?

Conversly, this is a very deep draft, and remembering the playrs we got from deep deep picks in previous years, I'd be lothe to leave out two young guys Noel has picked in preference to these guys who aren't going to play more than two years.

If it was our pick ... and the only two players left in the draft were Sav and Cummings ...

... I'd pass.

Maybe so but if we give the lard peanuts maybe hell be worth a try. Only used when his stregths are required and only down back. Dont mess with our forward line, its brilliant as it is.

As long as he knows that his one and only purpose is to serve us with 100% effort as nothing less is adequate -even in the few moments he may have on the groud if he does come-then lets give him a go.

Just a little go......though the problem is he may not fit.......

At this stage I have more faith in MM's football knowledge than my own. So I'll go with what he think's best.
But I stress, AT THIS STAGE!

Guys...who cares how much Cummings costs, a hack is a hack and we don't need a hack in our team. If we do draft him and he kicks more than 60 next year I will eat my words.

I'm with Joel. A free hack is less worse than an expensive one but still useless.
