adelaide and perth twice again, not bad, though i would've liked to have gone to stadium australia. Still, not a bad draw compared to recent years.

Well I think 18 games in Melbourne is a good deal and to play two of the weaker interstate sides away is pretty good too. Now lets just get our membership tickets and wait for the season to start. March 28th seems so far away

we play sydney at stadium australia first match in the preseason...sunday 17th February 3:10pm....i sense a big road trip coming up....yeah!

No game again in Brisbane.

I know we would have a better chance of knocking off the Lions in Melbourne, but I wouldn't mind seeing them more than once a year if I make the hike to Melbourne.

I don't know, maybe im being selfish putting the club before myself, but I am still feeling very disapointed....

Pies & Swans to play official 1st AFL match at Stadium Australia in the preseason comp Carol-17 Feb. 2002.Pies will make history once again.

Word that I have heard up here in Sydney is that the first game at SA is being the Swans v. Essendon... No doubt that is from the anti-Collingwood band who can't bear to see us make history yet again.

So methinks that we should pack SA with Black and White... huge flags (as big as they will let us take in) and show sydney what it means to be black and white. SA is out west the old home of the NRL Magpies team... methinks we may be able to tout for some new footy recruits.

Ur both right Carol. We play the first match there, in the Ansett Cup though. They play the first Home and Away match there.

I also thought the draw was slightly off, here's how i thought it should have gone...

The draw is OUT what a ripper and the PIES get to play the first game of the pre season at S.A. Gee wont the Novatel hotel right at S.A. be chock a block full of PIES supporters.
Pity that the Pies dont play any other games at S.A.,but at least they should get 50-70,000bums on seats to see a FIRST CLASS match.
Good luck to them and I would love to be there,but I cant sit on a bloody seat for a long period of time and I cant even get there.Oh well lets see what happens.

i think its a pretty good draw especially with the start and finish all being in melbourne....and one match in perth is followed with a week off during the split round so i dont see much cause to complain about the draw.....as for the blockbuster games....it is time the essendons and carltons of this world were complaining about playing us instead of the opposite...
