Essendon just announced that misiti has signed on for another two years.

He was never going to leave Essendon once the draft trading period ended and the deal fell through.
All he was doing between now and then was to make Essendon sweat it out for contemplating a trade in the first place and then waste Collingwood's and Geelong's time in the process.

I have always maintained that, whilst misiti was a great player, he would not have been able to cover c'wood's short term deficiencies. the cost of sacrificing 8th pick and $1m + in 3 years for him would have been too great as well. now that this business has concluded, we can look forward to drafting a genuine young talent from a very strong draft to compliment our young side, and let's hope that the likes of didak, cloke, betheras, scotland and mckee step up in 2002.
however, I am amazed at how essendon can keep misiti while still staying under the salary cap. richmond is the same with gasper and holland. very suspicious indeed
