At last. Here it is. The long awaited dissertation that earned me the title of "Doctor".

Be warned ... It's long. And it's not for the faint-hearted.

Academic writing is notoriously incomprehensible to real people ... but I reckon, for a piece of academic wank, this isn't too hard to get your head around.

Good luck.

Lol - I love it already - was this the start or do I really have to read the introduction!!

About Dr. Andrews

Alf Andrews is a person who was passionately interested in this topic before he began writing it and realised how uninteresting academia would make it. Be that as it may, the scholarship (with stipend) that he received whilst writing this thesis allowed him to move to the alleged home of football, Melbourne.
The thesis didn't completely kill his love of football. He is still devoted to his football team (Collingwood) and is a passionate cheersquad member.

Nice stuff Alf - I'm only half way through the intro but it seems like an actually piece of socialogical work! Maybe Jacco and co should have a read of it to remember the old days.

And I never knew where "kill for Collingwood" came from!

Hi Alf,

Looks great. I printed off the first chapter today, and will run off the rest tomorrow. It'll cost about the same as a textbook, but will actually be interesting! any chance of getting a copy of the cover, contents pages and references to make it look super? (how about a signed cover?!) And it's in perfect time for me to refer to it in all my assignments - so thanks! It will take me a while to read it all, but I will get a review to you eventually.
