Can anyone tell me - if you draft a kid, do you have to put him on your seniors list, or can you put him on the rookie list? In other words, you draft a 2-3 year prospect, does he have to be on our list right now?
And Barman looks the goods to me. Doubt he'll be there at 27 though. He killed them in the U 19's final, almost as much as Cloak did in his final He looked great at roving CHF, took strong pack marks, kicked well, good technique, distance, had a good sense about him.
The knee isn't serious apparently, he walked off the ground after it.

The National Draft is for the senior list. Any kid drafted gets put on the senior list. The rookie draft is usually held straight after the national Draft and there are rules governing the players that are eligible.
If Barham is that good I assume we can take him on a 3rd round pick as father-son. Is this a possibility?

I wasn't aware his Dad played for us!
But then yeah - get him! That would be great. He'll be a prospect just in terms of his strength, but he'd be great value in two years up forwards or back.

I thought Barham looked good in the U19 final.
Not sure if Ricky "Twang" was his dad or uncle.
Was Marcus Barham a relative of Ricky?

This extract was taken from the AFL website from the article :
http://www.afl.com.au/news/story_254982.htm
"During the two-hour session, one moment caused some concern when Calder Cannon Jordan Barham, (son of Rick) – who was on hand as the recruiting manager of Sydney – went down with what looked like a knee injury during a marking contest.
Barham, a promising type, had several recruiters immediately rush to their mobile phones, as the situation didn’t look good initially. Fortunately, Barham didn’t have to leave the field on a stretcher, although the ice was quickly applied in the change rooms."
If the above is correct then I guess it is Rick's son, but I assume if he is that good, there would have been some talk of father-son connection. Who knows?
For the people who werent aware. Ricky Barham played for Collingwood from about 1977 till 1985.

I thought I heard during the Telecast of the U19 GF that Ricky was his Uncle but I wasn't sure. I suspect we would have heard more by now if he was available under the father/son rule.
Not sure what will available at No.11 but a tall, quick, marking option sounds good to me. I wouldn't complain if we selected him but I have no idea what our options will be so that is an "uneducated" comment.

I heard David Rodan was just another Gary Moorcroft, he is to small. I think we should stay away from him!

He is like Moorcorft in the way that he'll come back to the field once he reaches the AFL. They were both physically more mature in the TAC cup, however when they reach the AFL they lose having this advantage over their opponents so they arent as effective. Just my view, but I wouldnt take him unless it was 2nd/3rd Pick

I AGREE WITH YOU!
Rodan is just good because he has matured quicker.
Collingwood dont waste your first pick on him!
Go for someone taller!
