Strong win in the end. and we do have the depth to cover injuries now, unlike previous Magpie top teams. Like, Carmichael, Bianco, McInnes, McStay, Ruscoe, even Lipinski, all say hello now. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Lol yep!
As for the there goes DeGoeys Brownlow surely it’s nicks for the stumps to steal! |
Until the umpires give JDG max votes each week as he can’t win to take them away from Nick.
Don’t know what radio station I had on, haven’t worked out what they are in the country 😂😂 but they had WC winning the game in the 3rd talking up how they’ve got the momentum, how Collingwood beating WC in 2005 was the last time last beat first and how Collingwood hasn’t been tested like this yet!
Got to a tv for the last qtr so no idea how they handled the disappointment. |

Shame about Degoey,he was absolutely flying until he hit that player, then he went into his shell, and it definitely affected him mentally. He’s going to be hard to replace in the next couple of weeks. |

If you had said at the start of the game we would double their score and win by 10 goals you would have thought it was an easy win.
That was a classic stressful Collingwood game to watch lol
Likely suspension to DeGoey.
Injuries to McCreery and WHE (Ash seems to only have a corky).
And what were we 7 goals bill at one point.
The umpires in the first half certainly favoured the home side and some of those early West Coast goals were gifts from the umpires. But West Coast really made a fight of it.
The bounce of the ball also seemed to not favour us.
Glad we got the 4 points. _________________ Sydney Collingwood Supporters Club

That might have been the ABC. For West Coast/Freo home games, their commentary is always heavily biased to the home team. Their mindless bias gets irritating after a while. _________________ We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Sloppy game highlighted by losing clearance for the second time
In successive weeks against the bottom sides.
Quite a few players had very poor games and would be lucky to hold their spots next week.
I thought Mitchell battled hard all game whilst others provided cameos.
Apart from the four points there was not too much else to get excited about.
JDG 2-3 weeks is not what the doctor ordered. _________________ - Side By Side - |

I will take a 63 point win every day of the week.
Yes we were outplayed at times by a desperate Eagles outfit, but we still prevailed with 9 goal kickers...
For next week:
Out De Goey (suspended)
In: Carmichael or Macrae
Out: Harrison
In: Elliott
I think we will find that Bobby Hill, Johnson, McCreery and Hoskin-Elliott will come up given the 9 day break. _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

This was a team that has never lost 10 in a row. That 3rd quarter was their grand final, in front of their home supporters, they threw everything at us, they were trying to make a statement, then we smashed them when they ran out of legs. The game was never in doubt. |

Not sure we can anyway if McReery and WHE are out.
Had a dirty day. Having him on the fringe come finals probably a good thing which speaks to our depth. _________________ The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after. |

It was evident to me in the first quarter that the Eagles were gonna bring the effort today and they should be content with that performance given their circumstances.
In reality it shouldn't be no real surprise how the game unfolded as we've been winning most games this season with a half of football and today was again no exception.
With injuries mounting and the De Goey suspension not convinced however that a half of football will be enough in the coming weeks. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

He needs to do more of the ugly stuff, like chase and tackle, and if not, he needs to kick more goals.
Hill is kicking goals and Elliot and McCreery apply a tonne of pressure even when he's not kicking goals.
There were a few moments when Ginni was just jogging which wont look good in the review. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

A bit if a grafting effort I thought. West Coast surprised us a bit. The boys lifted when they needed to in the last quarter which is always good. Injuries and suspension may hurt us going forward.
I thought Ginnivan needs to up his work rate and fight in contests. I thought his game today was nowhere near the standard we need from him, particularly when other pressuring forwards aren't there. If he doesn't produce next week, a spell in the reserves might be in order. _________________ We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare.
