When will the remaining rounds be locked into a date and time?

I want to do a trip to see the Pies v Dogs in July for my birthday, accommodation and flights can't really be booked without knowing the actual date.

^ There's not much information available from the AFL or in the media about the announcement plan.

Assuming the AFL wants to "float" to avoid scheduling too many dud games in primetime, they're probably going to wait until late in the first 15 weeks to announce the next block of 7 (the first 15 rounds are fixed and the AFL has indicated that rounds 16 to 22 will be fixed in due course, with round 23 to remain floating, as in the past). Given that the return Footscray game is round 17, you might only have a couple of weeks' notice, at best.

It certainly shows a degree of contempt for interstate supporters.

Yeah, it's a bit of a bugger, there's some great flight deals around that weekend but with the shorter R n R I'm on now, knowing the exact date is critical for planning.

We'll get there at some stage, dare I say it, maybe finals time.
