Gerard Denton to join Victoria

Today it was announced that Gerard Denton will not be playing with Tasmania in the 04/05 season. Adam Griffith was thinking of joining Denton in leaving the Tigers to join WA but has decided to stay with the Tigers.

Shane Watsons decision on whether or not he is staying with Tasmania is expected really soon, Watson came back fromt he U.S after spending some time with his girlfriend.

Wow! This came from left field for me. Havn't seen much of Denton but before he broke down he really impressed me. Have to wonder though, is there room in the team for him?

Same thoughts, Leon.

With Wise, Lewis, Inness, Harwood and all rounders Moss, McDonald and White and the odd appearance from Warne and Harvey, he'd be hard pressed to get a run.

Denton will be playing for Australia by the home Ashes series

I think Denton has a better chance of playing with Tassie then he does with the Vics. With all that talent that the Victorians have, he might find himself playing some bush cricket most of next season. I'm not bagging Denton, he's a good player, but I think that he's going to miss out going to Victoria, unless there is an injury to one of the Vics' players.

As good as he is, he won't be able to penetrate the Vics team considering all the quicks they've got.
