Or as some might ask: does he get community service for a community service?
Of course I could never say such a thing _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Electric bikes are considered bicycles, problem is most of the ones in Melbourne are actually illegal. They're supposed to be limited to 25kmh _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

She was lit up & wore a safety reflector jacket. It's where I frequently ride. My youngests boyfriend lives in a sharehouse with a paramedic. That poaramedic was on the scene. She had to deal with a dead kid ealier in her shift. Two female pasengers got out of the car in question while toi driver drove off in the hit / run. He's been arrested. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

firstly the guy did stop and render assistance, but this is a bloody disgrace.
i saw an 8 year old almost get hit yesterday, i yelled and she saw him just in time, they are on shared walking paths going way to fast, some ding, some dont, but slow down when you pass someone, and also, give room. as im deaf i walk right on the edge of the LHS of the path and yet a cyclist brushed my arm the other day, its bullshit and selfish, its a wide footpath, its not necessary.
now this poor young lady is going to be in pain and out of pocket through no fault of her own for ever, so yes i think cyclists should pay some kind of rego. including me.

Cyclists and pedestrians on the same path is worse than cars and bikes on the same road. Cyclists need their own paths, if not for safety reasons, then to shield non-cyclists from seeing all that lycra. _________________ kill for collingwood! |

I agree that shared paths should be scrapped. Dangerous and stupid. I avoid them like the Coronavirus. Roads are much safer for bike riders most of the time.
Let’s hope there are more cycle lanes built, or duplicate paths separating cyclists from pedestrians. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

100%. the thing is too, where we are, the kerb to grass is pretty good, the footpath is full size, there is no reason for these accidents. I do use them with a bike too, i hit the grass and go slow around groups if they dont hear me, but the attitude of too many is **** you _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

I've said it before, there should be two classes of cyclists.
1. The puddling along at 10kmh on the Malvern Start with the shopping basket on the handlebars and max of 3 gears. For these you can ride on shared paths and footpaths and don't need a helmet.
2. The multi gear road racers favoured by MAMIL's and couriers who ride like they're chasing the leader in the tour de france. These ones must wear a helmet, ride on the road and pay compulsory registration including 3rd party insurance but are not allowed off road. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

a speed limit would certainly be a good start.
and they sure as hell should have personal liability insurance, all of that seems fair. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |
