Thanks Warby lad. Good reading in a country bereft of AFL news.

Thank you to Messrs Lad and Parker.

Listen up my little Vatslakukkel that was some writing that would make the folks in Tallinn proud. A little bit of schmalz here and there added to the picture you painted.

Go pies

Thank you, Lad Smile

Based on your assessments of the training sessions you have seen, which player do you expect to take his game to the next level this year?

Morning Mr Jezza

I cannot split Murphy and Kelly- I would dare to suggest that Kelly may be a revelation up forward and has an exciting blend of height, speed and marking power that could add to the mix.

I agree with Mr Albert Parker around Murphy- he has speed and height and is tough at the contest- he and IQ could provide much dash off half back to get the ball forward much quicker in transition from defence...

Pretty much every training session is Open at Holden Centre.
Monday, Wed, Fri typically, but possibly not this Monday given the public holiday.
Usually starts about 9.30am for pre-season and 10am during the regular season. Bit earlier if it is a scorcher.

Thank you Mr 3rd Degree.

Like many immigrants from the former Soviet bloc, I am very big fan of wrestling. My Uncle Olaf knew 'Mad Dog Vachon' and his brother whose name escapes me.

Of the other wrestlers I have seen, Sargeant Slaughter and Junkyard Dog were perennial favourites and 'The Iron Sheik'.

I used frequent the 'Continental Hotel' in Melbourne CBD when Mario Milano owned.

Warburton Lad, words fail me!
From your descriptions of the morning environment, Mrs Lad and your references to movies, your report was a delight.
I've read it three times so far and like a good book or movie, I pick things up which I missed the first time around.
I hope you keep up your marvelous reporting for a long time to come.

Thanks also to Albert Parker, whose report was a little more critical than WL's, but that's ok. We can't have 30 players in the side at any one time.

You guys are helping me to look forward to the 2020 season with anticipation and excitement.

Thank you Mr Harrysz.

My contributions are only a small thread in the rich fabric that is Nick's Bulletin Board.

I welcome posters who have other viewpoints and certainly respect Mr Albert Parker's views- he posts some great observations.

Whilst we differ, for instance, on the boys from the Emerald Isle, I celebrate that we live in this country where it's cool to have contrary views on things.

Thank you Mr Stui Magpie.

If the health holds up, I will continue to write.

If I may, I would like to endorse the article on the club website that sung the praises of Jamie Elliott- he certainly has been pushed up into the midfield mix where he alternates with Callum Brown who is earning his stripes with his forward pressure and his quick hands in packs.

Trent Bianco is another who has spent time with the mids- he is as good a kick as I have seen in quite some time (think Didak). This lad will not need many possessions to slice opposition defensive units to ribbons...

Get ready to celebrate, Pies fans...

The most eloquent, beautifully descriptive and entertaining training report ever!! Thank you WL!!!!!!!!!

PS Looking at a photo of the young Daics on the club website, I was extremely impressed by his muscle development and definition. He must have been working extremely hard in the gym this pre-season.

Cheers Pyrenees Pie..

Young Daicos has clearly returned in very good nick. He has a far more solid frame and has worked on his pace. Importantly, he is now more direct with ball in hand and is highly active in the transition from defence into forward 50.

Like others before him (Jaxson Barham, Paul Tuddenham, Mark Richardson, Andy Moore, Adrian Kink and Jamie Turner), he has had to shoulder the burden of a well-known name at Collingwood- lets hope that he is judged in 2020 solely on his output on field and not always compared to his dad.
