From The Mercury

Quote:
A mammoth search has been unable to find the body of the man who jumped off the ferry into rough seas late Thursday night. The interstate man is the first person to jump off a TT-Line passenger ship in Bass Strait. Tasmania Police said the identity of the man, who was in his late 40s, had not been confirmed. A TT-Line spokesman said the man was being attended by a nurse and security staff when he broke free and jumped overboard about 75km northwest of Devonport.

Yeah, I saw that on the news yesterday. What an idiot. Did they end up finding him? I know they were still looking for him yesterday morning.

I never thought the prospect of ending up in Tassie could drive one to that!

No Dave,he had actually escaped from Tassie and was on his way to Melbourne. They were trying to explain the concept of skyscrapers, electricity, computers etc. The things that we,in the 21st century take for granted. It was obviously too much for him and he decided to swim home.

According to other passengers he was off his face, and was screaming abuse at people before he jumped.
