In case anyone's wondering how I'm feeling about Hillary Clinton's latest comments on the Sanders campaign...

They're certainly going all out to stop him and even Warren. No idea why they think Biden is a good idea, I mean he's getting mauled in debates already. Even if you hate Trump you'd have to admit his campaigning and debating is top notch. He destroyed the Republican establishment one debate at a time, what's he going to do to Joe Biden who rages at questions from old man democrats on the campaign trail. |

To be fair to Hillary Clinton (never thought I'd say those words) she's got Bernie pegged. The man never had a real job and has done jack shit as a Senator. He's a grifter and moocher, a charlatan selling the snake oil of socialism to a brainwashed generation of political idiots.
He seems to believe his own BS, he was a Communist during the cold war after all, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he's just another political opportunist. With the current attacks I'd say his run is probably over. |

On the last part, we'll see. I wouldn't be surprised if it has a galvanising effect. Clinton isn't exactly popular, even within the Democratic base, and this just further reinforces Sanders' outsider credentials – as at least one commentator has pointed out, what Clinton transparently means by "he has no friends" is "he has no allies in the elite donor/powerbroker class". Incidentally, here's one of Clinton's old friends trotting out these same lines a few years ago:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0WgI1t9X78
On the rest, you and Clinton are totally wrong – Sanders has been a dedicated and hard-working senator, and a very effective negotiator. Here's a random list I found online (you can also add since then his work on sponsoring the bipartisan bill to get the US out of Yemen, which passed both houses but was vetoed by Trump):
http://occasionalplanet.org/2016/03/04/a-list-of-bernie-sanders-accomplishments/
He's also, for what it's worth, very well-liked by voters:
https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/440665-sanders-klobuchar-among-five-most-popular-senators-poll
Calling him a "political opportunist" is just meaningless, unless you mean that he's used his position as a lone progressive voice in congress to push for legislation that would make regular Americans' lives better. When you consider what he's up against – networks of mega-rich lobbyists and politicians from both parties who only answer to them – he's more than just an advocate for a specific ideology or section of the country; he's one of the few genuinely democratically inclined representatives, I'd argue. And I think the poll numbers above in his home state reflect that. The difference between him and Clinton (an actual narcissist who couldn't give a stuff about the ordinary voter – and, incidentally, one of the country's least popular politicians) couldn't be starker. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Sanders has just taken the lead in the Democratic primary polling for the first time:
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/22/us/politics/bernie-sanders-poll-joe-biden.html
Quote: | The first poll, conducted by SSRS for CNN and released early Wednesday morning, showed Mr. Sanders with 27 percent support and Mr. Biden following closely behind at 24 percent support. It was the first time Mr. Sanders has led nationally since Mr. Biden entered the race last April, though his lead was within the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. |

Funny, seems to me like he's just taking the worst parts of it and putting them in his administration. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

this one has been around for a few days; Bernie Sanders paid staffer kyle jurek, (emphasis on paid staffer)
https://www.jpost.com/American-Politics/Bernie-Sanders-organizer-Cities-will-burn-if-Trump-is-re-elected-614310
its not unusual to find this sentiment on the left, usually it goes like this:
"Gulags were compassionate"
"it wasn't real communism (but we still wave the soviet flag)"
"a noble experiment carried out under less than ideal conditions"
"i would rather have....(insert act of genocide) committed in the name of socialism, than anything else"
"Anifa might have a few radicals who are misguided but they are on the right track"
......and a long list of other Marxist sh!t no one will vote for.
Sanders record of not dealing with his own radicals will likely sink him in the same way it did Jeremy Corbyn.
Essentially its the politics of punishment; if you don't vote for us we will punish you, if you do vote for us we will punish you. _________________ Pi = Infinite = Collingwood = Always

Note he didn’t say that cities will burn if Sanders is elected. This is why people should vote for Sanders. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |
