Made the long and painful trek from Warburton this morning, eager to see the lads on the track. Confirmed on the Collingwood FC website that a skills session would be held from 10-00am till 11-30 am this morning.
By 10-30, there was nothing on the track bar some seagulls so I rang the club. Was told that the boys would be on the track 'any minute'
At 10-45 spoke to Matthew Boyd who said that there was no training today, but match-sim Friday. Left the training track filthy at the contempt in which the club held its supporters today.
Very disappointed that id made the journey for nought. A group of around 8 women had journeyed in from Berwick and were not happy either. _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

Can you tell me why you think the club is out of touch with supporters. Obviously this issue resulted from a miscommunication but you seem to be suggesting it is endemic? Why? _________________ "You must be a parking ticket, cuz you got fine written all over you" Glen Quagmire |

That's poor form.
Silver lining - you got to meet 8 women Wink
Even though nothing came of it, I appreciate your effort - even if the club don't! |

It's the discretion of the club to cancel training. Could be any number of reasons. It's happened to me before as well and invariably will happen again. Interests of the players come before watching them go round the training track during the week. I'll happily go without ever watching them at training again if they can deliver me a premiership or two again. |

totally agree that the clubs discretion around training is sacrosanct.
Surely though, they could have updated the website the night before and informed the receptionist... _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

It's a shame that WL was inconvenienced.
Yes the club has to decide these matters in its own discretion but perhaps the matter of communication with supporters was forgotten.
Keep of the brilliant work WL. |

dam shame that. your posts Lad read like your your actually there watching and it makes me feel like I saved a buck because I didn't have to go there myself.
in honesty I am more than understanding that the club needs to change general training times and venues at anytime for trainings or whatever. their reasons don't need to be explained nor should they have to broadcast to the masses as the moment will always be in the best interest of the players and staff only.
however its still a shame we couldn't see your observations this week. _________________ no second chances |

50/50 about getting down unaided in the next week or so and give a report.
Am more than glad to post exclusively on Nicks until the masses say "Enough, Laddy...!" _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

Disgraceful treatment of the hardcore fans like our Lad who attends regularly. Yes they can decide where and when they want to train and the players welfare must always be the top priority. However, we are talking about a multi million dollar organisation here and surely they knew at least a day before what was going to happen?
On a side note you will never be told "enough Laddy". Your reports are always entertaining and concise and a much needed fix for all Collingwood supporters in the off season. Keep up the good work champ. |

Oh contraire, I expect without fear of contradiction “Too much Laddie is not enough Laddie” _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |
