The Schaz, Freeman and Aish draft is pretty much a disaster for the club and definitely cost us a flag (or two). While Bont and Cripps have been doing their thing we haven’t turned one pick into an A-grader or match winner. Sigh...
Disastrous. And I was a Schaz believer too. _________________ Est. 2002 |

He was nearly a midfielder, nearly a winger, nearly a back.
He was great skills, touch and awareness. But never quite stamped himself as a certainty through injury or form. He was always close.

Good call Cam. James is an introverted personality who played introverted football. Never seemed to gain weight due to repeated shoulder injuries But wish him well in Freo _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

Yeah looks like we are coming out losers but its not quite over yet.
We may pick up a great player with a second round selection next year for Aish.
The Shaz story hasnt finished yet either. _________________ Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero. |

I’d argue he’s a better player now than when he arrived at Collingwood. |
yeah, but i think Collingwood tried to make up for the prior trade with the bears by paying overs on this trade. it is important to have a healthy relationship with teams you will be trading with repeatedly. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

I think that is fair.
Anything that doesn't involve pick 22 and we're getting screwed. |
😂😂😂, its a salary cap dump, we are trying to get rid of him
Who the dark would pay up for a player your trying to get rid off?
😂😂pick 22,you must have stolen my Scooby snacks & eaten the whole pack |
Okay, I wasn't that far off was I.
I suggested improving our second round pick this year by swapping our 2nd round picks with Freo, going from 35 to 22, for Aish and a late pick back the other way.
In theory we actually did better. Rather than swapping 2nd round picks, we swapped our future 3rd round for their future 2nd. With the late pick swap basically cancelling each other out.
Freo will back themselves to do better next year and have a lower 2nd round pick than this year, but our 3rd round pick will be well higher than 35, so it's actually a better swap.
HARDLY a cap dump. But what I do I know, I don't listen to the fake news on SEN about our salary cap so I must be less informed.
As you were. |

Well we can't really bemoan missing out on Bont, because we didn't have a high enough pick to access him; Cripps on the other hand, is another story...
St.Kilda took Billings ahead of Bont, you can bet somebody got their arses kicked over that one... _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

I wish Aish all the best in the future, he played 50 games for Collingwood, a few injuries meant he didn't play more. He is a good player, gave his all as a player and person, and he will be missed.
It is the professional footballers current dilemma, contracted and moved on anyway.
It gives others an opportunity to take that role. _________________ "Go Pies" |

It's stating the obvious I know, but I am still a believer RH, whether it be with us or another club.
If he'd been given more opportunity in the latter half of the 2019 season, especially in the PF, I reckon there would be far fewer doubts about his ability and value.
I find it ironic that the player who was selected ahead of him for the PF, has now been off-loaded, which adds weight to my view that they got selection wrong for the PF.
Anyway, all best wishes for the future to James Aish. He displayed much courage in his time with us, both in his fight with injuries and on the field for the Pies. |
