Vote for Seedsman. No idea what was thought to be so good about the Cameron goal. Good on his teammate for putting the ball in space for him. Yawn. |

Levi Greenwood's mark narrowly missed out. Howe's was a distant third. |

Wonder how Howes mark would have faired? _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Well, it was more worthy than the Higgins throw-goal.
But it wouldn't have been in Howe's top 24. |

^ and on cue, all Gary Lyon can do is to whine that such a goal should never have happened. No credit to Crisp for picking up a ball behind the centre and leaving 2 Dees defenders for dead, before goaling from 55m at f ull speed and under pressure from Jones.
What a miserable commentator. He was like that the whole day, complaining and whining about Melbourne. |

I noticed that!!! Not one of the other commentators added "It was a great goal by Crisp though". AFL 360 had a highlights package from the weekend and I was waiting for Jack's goal, but it didn't come! |

^ Jack Crisp won Goal of the Week last week, so take that G. Lyons, who is currently me giving the absolute sh*ts when he commentates. He needs to control his bias towards one particular team, when commentating.
Anyway, who cares about him, this week, we have Howie in for the Mark of the Week and very rightly so!!! |

When Howe was free kicked for studs up (which wasn't one of his best marks anyway), the AFL said it was correct. When the same happened to Riewoldt this round, the AFL immediately changed the Toby Greene rule.
"The AFL has immediately changed the 'Toby Greene rule' on studs up in marking contests amid outrage over the two controversial free kicks paid against Tiger Jack Riewoldt on Sunday.
...
It is not clear why the AFL did not change the rule interpretation after the Howe incident."

But later in that article Warwick Capper says this:
"The players like me, like Modra, and Jeremy Howe, who actually can mark, the best marks in history, and Jesaulenko, we do it softly, because it's timing. We can just put a knee in the head and do it softly.
"He's the poor man's Warwick Capper, Riewoldt, he's got to put the feet out. You've got to go up there nice and smoothly like me and just go, bang, sticky fingers." |

K, I'll have a guess as to why - because no-one from the club challenged it in any way, whereas I believe Damien Hardwick questioned it immediately after the game (?).
Maybe Eddie used up all his influence with the AFL over the Stevo ban, but he's done precious little to question some very doubtful decisions regarding our team this season - the studs-up for Howe, the lack of review of Mayne's touched 'goal" and the Mihocek goal review failure. He seems reluctant to stick up for us in the same way he used to. |
