Post subject: Are these players in contention? | |

I'd be interested to hear from the cognoscenti how far these players are from either debuting or making a return.
Tyler Brown, Atu Bosenavulagi, Max Lynch, Tim Broomhead and John Noble.
We need a spark. |

This has been an issue, Quaynor was our first debutant this year. First. No wonder a few of our players have become lazy — with injuries to other key players, there’s not much pressure coming from the VFL to replace them. |

Tyler Brown missed a few weeks with, I think, an elbow injury. He's been an emergency for the past 2 weeks. Is travelling very nicely.
Atu Bosenavulagi had his best game in the VFL, not last week, the week before. I dont think he is a high chance of playing AFL this year. He is a trier though.
Max Lynch has been named emergency for a number of weeks. I think he's just there incase we need a late replacement for a tall. I dont think he's been on fire in the VFL.
Tim Broomhead has been ok in the VFL. I'm not sure if he'll be on our list next season.
John Noble has played 3 VFL games for the club and has been very good in all three. Emergency last week and, I believe, some chance to play AFL this year. Seems like a good find in the mid-season draft. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

It would be a shame to have spent so much time on Broomhead not to see any fruit come of it. He was fairly good before he got injured, I hope the rehab wasn't a wasted effort and he finds some form. Good luck to him - quite brave to work through such a horrible injury.
I agree we could have blooded a few more players - pressure and experience are important - but then perhaps we wouldn't have maintained such a high place on the ladder if we did. _________________ We shall set our course by the stars and not ships that pass in the night |

Nobel will be the only one out of that lot that gets a go soon.
Tyler Brown at some stage, he's very light though. _________________ Ohhhh the premierships a cakewalk for the good old COLLINGWOOD |

I think John Noble is ready made with some good footy experience
He would be up there
May disagree but another IMO be Lynch —-on current form Cox is vulnerable
This game will be a window into who fits our needs going forward _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

There is a bit of talk in the media that Noble will play Friday. If not given his form in the VFL it won’t be long. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

Noble is a worthwhile inclusion—how do we “adjust “ the defence to include him
I’ve made a suggestion based on his seamless fit to give that tough as nails Maynard midfield duties which could be trialed in Perth—a gamble may be but I consider it worth the gamble _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Looks like you made a good call achilles. As I had not seen Noble play at all, I overlooked him as a possible inclusion, but by all accounts his VFL form has been terrific and it seems he is very likely to debut for us this weekend.
If he can make an impact like Quaynor did last week, it will be exciting to see. Apparently Noble is very quick, so he and IQ may very well make big steps in improving our "transition" play from defence to our forward line. Do that successfully and we'll win the game. |

There's talk of Noble coming into the side this week. Yet another player who can run off half back, much like Quaynor. Might just be the spark our midfielders need to get their shite together and start running too. |

I'm hearing that too. And I agree WW, it might be just what's needed! _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't. |
