It’s starting to feel like deja vu – three key defenders down (Dunn, Langdon, Howe), an injury nearly every week after a fairly settled start to the season, depth starting to be tested – let’s hope we get something resembling a full side back soon. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Just listened to Mr Rivers talk on the VFL and said they had to take Goldy off thru the game with some tightness in his archhilles _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

I don't think the Club has had a good year for injuries in the last 8 seasons. |

COLLINGWOOD
Taylor Adams - Groin (TEST)
Jamie Elliott - Hamstring (TEST)
Will Kelly - Leg (3-6 Weeks)
Daniel Wells - Knee (9 Weeks)
Dayne Beams - Hip (9-13 Weeks)
Jeremy Howe - Calf (TBC) Waiting on scans. We know he wont play this week, probably 3 or 4, but we'll wait for scan results.
Tyson Goldsack - Achilles/calf (TBC). Not great news, will probably miss at least a week.
Tom Langdon - Knee ( Indefinite) Previously listed as 3 weeks, then TBC. We'll know more in the next fortnight. Some unofficial reports have suggested he will need to have surgery. I'm getting a bad feeling about this now.
Rupert Wills - Calf (TBC)
Tom Wilson - Conditioning (TBC) Still building fitness levels. Am assuming he will play VFL later in the year
Nathan Murphy - Ankle (Indefinite)
Lynden Dunn - Knee (Season)

Quote: | Howe is set to be sidelined for multiple weeks but Adams and Elliott could be ready to return. A timeframe on Langdon is expected to become clearer in coming weeks. Goldsack has picked up a niggle, as has Wills, while Murphy's recovery has been slow and Kelly will also spend a considerable time on the sidelines. Stephenson will be available at finals time while Beams and Wells will race the clock to return before season's end, but the campaign seems over for fellow veteran Dunn after a second anterior cruciate ligament rupture in nine months. - Ben Collins |

Presti this has been my concern all along
The rumours have been loud since it happened that his knee was worse than being reported by the club
Whether the delay in getting surgery effects his start to the 2020 season isn't known but I don't like the way the club has handled this one or the Beams one either
Langdon has chronic knees as it is and missed several games last season with what the club reported as soreness
Swelling in his knee for a guy with known bad knees should ring alarm bells for medical staff surely
His 2019 appears to be done now along with Dunn and Wells and depending on Beams healing powers that could be 4 gone
We can easily cover Langdon with Scharenberg (as long as his knees hold together fingers crossed) but we are starting to get lower on troops each week it seems given the Stephenson suspension added in as well
Let's hope on some good news on Adams Elliott and Beams in coming weeks to ease the injury list |

It's been 6 weeks. Obviously 'rest' hasn't and isn't going to fix this.
The hesitation to deal with it properly (surgery) straight away is quite staggering and has pretty much sealed the deal on his season.

I can’t recall a situation where delaying surgery in favour of rest has worked at Collingwood. Seems that every ‘rested’ player over pre season or in season eventually succumbs to surgery. I know surgery is the last resort, but gee whiz we don’t have a good strike rate simply ‘waiting’ for significant injuries to heal. _________________ Est. 2002 |

Lets see. When he first did the injury, he was listed as "TBC" for two weeks. Then a timeline return of "5 Weeks" was given. That was counting down each week until we got to 3 weeks. Then it went to "TBC" last week and now "Indefinite". Very frustrating for everyone.
He goes under the knife, the day after the injury or now, its season over. So I dont blame the club for giving him some chance at getting back. Club doctors, outside specialists and Tom himself would have impacted this decision.
It's just now it looks as though it is not responding they way we'd hoped. In some ways I just want them to make it official that he's out for the year and we can expect to see him in round 1, 2020. All this waiting for news is horrible. Tom must be extremely frustrated. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Collingwood now has Quaynor listed as "Test". FFS. We need to blood some kids! I think Daicos for JT or Varcoe for sure, the best teams have competition for spots IMO. _________________ I would be ashamed to admit that I had risen from the ranks. Bucks had a presser just now and Howe was mentioned via a comment from Ed re his return
Quote by Bucks “Dr McGuire I’m sure hasn’t touched with Howe
Sometimes he gets its wrong—no two to three weeks “
Imagine Ed said one thing but two to three is what medical say
Oh but both Shaz and Jamie Eliot Bucks gives thumbs up for very early return _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

After the club published their injury list: (This info is merged with the official AFL injury list)
Tyson Goldsack - Achilles/calf (TEST). Not great news, will probably miss at least a week. Should be rested considering his age.
Rupert Wills - Calf (TEST). Has missed two VFL games. A chance this week.
Issac Quaynor - Groin (TEST) News confirmed about an hour ago. Puts a lot of doubt on his chances for AFL debut this week. Good news is that it's obviously not a long term problem. May miss one week.
Jamie Elliott - Hamstring (1 Week) Strange after an article a couple hours ago saying he is a chance. Is there such thing as over cautious?
Taylor Adams - Groin (2 Weeks) Seems to have had another setback. Was set to have been a test this week.
Will Kelly - Leg (3-6 Weeks)
Daniel Wells - Knee (9 Weeks)
Dayne Beams - Hip (9-13 Weeks)
Jeremy Howe - Calf (TBC) Will have to wait on scan results for a predicted timeline. Seems to be in good spirits from his interview. When asked in presser, it was estimated 2 weeks, but thats unofficial.
Tom Wilson - Conditioning (TBC) Building his fitness. I'm not sure if he is allowed to play in the VFL yet. Can anyone confirm?
Tom Langdon - Knee (Indefinite) Listed as unavailable from the club and indefinite from the AFL.
Nathan Murphy - Ankle/Back (Indefinite) Now listed as a back injury from the club. No time frame given, but not listed as indefinite, just unavailable.
Lynden Dunn - Knee (Season) _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |
