I dont know if money is the issue.
It's that he wants to be in S.A. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

No one wants to be in Sth Australia. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Adelaide has pic No.1 as it currently stands, don't they? The last thing I'd want to see is BG going, and would be two first round picks minimum - No.1 and something close by. _________________ Billy Picken, the great No. 25 in the sky! |

I would say 3 x first round draft picks and we can give them Grundy and a third rounder. _________________ Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero. |

The obvious answer is don't trade him simple
But if he comes and says I want to go back to SA then what we get is very important
He's a generational player and should be treated as such
2 x 1st round picks one being a top 2 pick and the other inside the top 10 and we get their young ruckman
They can get Grundy and our 3rd round pick or Grundy and a non required player like Broomhead
Otherwise no deal
Personally I think we make him a offer to good to refuse and if that means off loading a player or 2 elsewhere to keep him then so be it |

I love Brodie Grundy, and hope he stays a Pie, but if he goes then the receiving club has better be prepared to pay up big |

Grundy is at peak currency, I love him but if we can jag a haul of young talent it could set us up for 10 years. Either way we win. |

The Carlton pick Adelaide will receive, which will be 1 or 2. Then the Crows first pick, which will be around 13 or 14 somewhere. Riley O'Brien, a 23 year old ruckman that looks fairly good but only 13 games to his name. Jake Kelly, a player we should have drafted already.
Thats 2 very good picks and 2 players, including a replacement ruck. We'd have to give them another pick in the second round or something. We could then look to sign an older ruck like Kruezer, Ryder or Goldstein to cover the loss for a year while we're still in the flag window. We could also on-trade these picks or even hit up Coniglio as a FA.
We need to convince Grundy that this is his home and that life after footy is very long and he'll have the rest of his life to live in S.A.
But if he chooses to go to Adelaide, then we can turn that into something big. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Trade our number one ruck for the possibility of two top ten picks making it? I think not.
He could lead us to a couple of flags in the next few years- why give that up for anything. _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

The thread title makes me ill.
No way would I trade him. He's the centrepiece you build a champion team around. He's got at least 6 or 7 good years left in him.

Herald Sun reports that he has deferred the contract talk to the end of the season.
