Emergencies aren't listed yet . The Reid inclusion makes me wonder whether Cox or Grundy will be a late out, which would pave the way for Daicos. But usually Buckley doesn't do those sort of tactics _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing |

Interesting selection. Thought Daicos was an automatic in.
I wonder if Bucks has thought that this is a great game to test out the 3 talls playing together.
Reid, Cox and Mihocek in the same team may work against the undersized dogs. |

Reid played well at the Telstra Dome against Port in his first game back, just couldn't kick straight. Not the change I would have made, but in Bucks & Co I trust. _________________ Get back on top. |

These have been my thoughts too. Perhaps they're giving either Brodie or Coxy an extra day to show that they are fit enough to play?
If not, it's sure going to be interesting to see the three tall forwards play together - so unlike our usual forward set up. Those smaller players in Varcoe, JT, WHE, Callum etc will need to be ready to gobble up any marking spills. |

Very concerned that Ben Reid is named to replace Stepho, rather than Daicos. I don't think it means we are trying a 3 forward set up, because such a set up would require the presence of Stepho with his blistering pace and the chaotic unpredictability he creates. I am very sure that it means either one of Grundy or Cox (probably Grundy, given the injury profiles) is out. Given that the Bulldogs ruck division is extremely weak, we can get away hopefully with Grundy not playing. But it will level the playing field enormously. WHE and JDG to create our forward combo with the tall combination that happens to be there. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Happy that Reid is in. Gives us a look at the 'three-tall' forward line in reality rather than hypothetically.
Daicos' time will come- I think that he is being made to sweat upon an opportunity so that he will make every post a winner when he is finally included. This is not an easy team to break into.
The key match-ups in this match are Pendles vs The Bont and Moore versus Naughton; if we break even in those two pairings we should be able to win the majority of the other contests to prevail.
If Grundy is a late out, Lynch gets his opportunity- he has trained assiduously with Grundy in his time at the club and, whilst a work in progress, will not disappoint if given his chance. He is slower than Grundy, but can push forward and hit the scoreboard.
Whilst the Stephenson suspension is inopportune, it lays down a direct challenge for Varcoe/Hoskin-Elliott/Thomas/De Goey/Brown and Cox to fill the breach. I fully expect Treloar to spend more time deep-forward to be a fast leading option out of the goal square.
Pies in a close one- 17 points. _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

Tend to agree with you TBF. Mihocek is not your average third tall, he's nearly as mobile as WHE, a strong mark and large tank. He's more the T. Cloke style without the monster pack mark ability. He's not slow, and neither is Reid. On a smaller ground speed is negated slightly because you can bottle things up easier. However as the old adage goes, the tall guys don't get any shorter. _________________ Get back on top. |
