I wonder how the AFL funding model works. I guess it's based on total revenue, because I'd guess WC make the most membership revenue.
But, returning to the thread topic, I doubt all this helps clubs injury-wise, because no club has been willing to go over the soft salary cap. Gone are the days of jetting off to climb mountains, which didn't help anyway. |

So, they’re going to play this weekend without all 4 of their good players. Interesting times. The Herald-Sun pointed out that they’d also had a couple of serious injuries in the administrative side of things, too. |

Riewoldt is reported to be ready to return. That would make it only 3 wks missed. They have hardly any injuries, so the thread hypothesis still isn't ruled out. (It reminds me of the Conca injury last year. You could hear his screams through the mic, he was carted off the ground, and the media made a big fuss about it, but in the end he didn't need surgery, he was back before finals, and he was only ever a fringe player anyway.)
Hawthorn's injury list is growing, though O'Meara returns this round. |

There’s talk that Cotchin has had further scans on his hamstring and it is likely he is going to be out for the remainder of the season and Riewoldt has done a really bad knee injury could be up to 2-3 months lynch has also a small stress fracture in his ankle and dusty has op in his groins |

The headline screams "In Astbury, out Vlastuin as injury woes continue for Tigers", but their injury situation has been severely exaggerated. They are still middle of the pack. The media randomly beat up certain teams' injuries. |

Nankervis out 6-8 wks with a right adductor injury!!
https://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-05-13/nank-out-for-two-months-as-injury-carnage-continues-at-tigerland
Again, the media is wildly exaggerating Richmond's injury problems ("carnage", "seemingly never-ending injury crisis") , but no club has deep ruck cover, least of all that club.
This year casts a lot of doubt on the only possible true achievement by Richmond in 2016-7 (that they had good injury management). It's beginning to look like their zero-injury run in those years was just undeserved good luck. |

I guess we can take Grigg of the injury list. He's retired. |
